The Cafritz Company, founded in 1919, constructed over 20,000 homes in the Washington D. C. Metropolitan area, as well as constructed and owned 10,000 apartment units and over 4 million square feet of commercial office space. Carlson Cafritz has over fourteen years experience in various aspects of commercial real estate. Prior to moving to Aspen, Carlson Cafritz worked in Washington D.C. for Cafritz Interest as an associate, where he worked on diverse projects such as the renovation & leasing of several commercial office buildings in Washington, DC's Central Business District in particular the 134 000 SF, 1660 L Street, the 140 000 SF, 1725 K Street and 1775 I Street, at 180 000 SF. The most substantial of these projects was the gut renovation of 1775 I Street, which transformed the obsolete class C building into a state-of-the-art class A building. The renovation, leasing, and sale were completed in eighteen months. The tenants included Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Cecart Price and Enron Corporation. 1775 I Steet was finally sold to the State of Nevada Employee Retirement System for $288/sq. ft. In 1998, Carlson Cafritz joined the Financial Services Group at Cushman & Wakefield, Washington, DC's largest commercial real estate services firm. While there, his focus was on the acquisition and sale of multi-family properties throughout the Metropolitan area. Carlson advised and assisted the acquisition and disposition departments of large institutional and smaller regional real estate investment firms, such as Lennar, KSI, the Archon Group AIMCO, the Maryland Housing Fund, Black Rock Financial and the J. E. Roberts Company. Carson moved to Aspen Colorado from Washington, DC in 2001, where he worked as a Broker Associate for Aspen Land & Homes, LLC Sotheby's International Realty representing investors, developers, corporate and retail tenants. He was also the head of the Aspen Board of Realtors relocation Committee and is currently leasing advisor for 77 K Street, a 340 000 SF office building located in Washington D.C. In May of 2009 Carlson Cafritz opened Aspen Commercial, LLC specializing in commercial real estate leasing and sales in Aspen Colorado. |
